An upcoming Youth Olympic debut

As checked on 19 October, the International Wushu Federation schedules the Dakar 2026 wushu competition for 1–3 November at the Dakar Expo Center in Senegal. The wider Youth Olympic Games run from 31 October to 13 November. This is an agenda item for an upcoming competition, not a report of medals already won. Its status as a Youth Olympic medal sport should not be confused with inclusion in the adult Summer Olympic programme.

Four events, two combined families

The IWUF lists 48 athletes and four events: men's and women's changquan combined, and men's and women's taijiquan combined. The first combines changquan with gunshu, a staff routine. The second combines taijiquan with taijishan, a fan routine. These are taolu performances, not sanda bouts against an opponent. The combined result of two routines matters, so watching only one routine does not provide the full basis for the event ranking.

How to follow it without getting lost

Start by identifying the event name and whether you are watching a preliminary round or a final. Then compare performances within the same event rather than treating every wushu discipline as interchangeable. The federation's current overview and sport guide are the reference for the format. Recheck the official schedule near the competition for session times and any changes. Broadcast access depends on the published arrangements for your country; no viewing time or platform should be assumed from the dates alone.
