The date on the calendar

The International Weightlifting Federation calendar lists the 2026 World Championships in Ningbo, China, from 27 October to 8 November. The event regulations identify the competition and training venue as Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, at 1280 Yunfei Road in Jiangbei District.

The overall championship dates do not replace the schedule for individual sessions. To follow a particular category, save its date and time once they appear in the current programme, rather than inferring them from the overall event window.

Documents currently available

At our 9 October check, the official event download section includes the regulations and an entry list dated 18 September 2026. That document date matters: a list published before the event should not be treated as final confirmation of who will lift in a session.

For spectators, the useful route runs from the calendar to the event documents and, when available, the start lists. Check the update date and category before sharing a screenshot or planning your day.

Getting ready to follow the competition

When saving a session, record its time zone too. If the programme uses the venue’s local time, convert it to where you live. Check broadcast availability separately: a link announced for one territory does not guarantee access in every country.

For Gymrats Dark Series, the championships offer an opportunity to follow strength training in competition. Once the sessions begin, reports should rely on final results. This preview was checked on 9 October; subsequent changes from the organisers take precedence.
