Gold and two European junior records
Marcin Ziółkowski won the junior men's 110 kg competition at the European Junior and U23 Championships in Durrës, Albania, on 18 October 2026. The official results record a 176 kg snatch and a 201 kg clean and jerk, producing a 377 kg total. The European federation identifies the snatch and total as European junior records. The Polish federation independently confirms the title and those two successful best lifts.
The heaviest clean and jerk was not the winning total
Artem Grudinin took clean-and-jerk gold with 202 kg, one kilogram more than Ziółkowski. But his 170 kg snatch produced a 372 kg total, five kilograms behind the champion. Constantin Schwarzer completed the total podium with 359 kg. This is a useful real example of why the final lift and the overall result should not be treated as the same thing.
Three columns to read together
A total combines the athlete's best successful snatch with the best successful clean and jerk; it does not add every attempt. In this competition, 176 plus 201 equals 377, while 170 plus 202 equals 372. When following a session, keep those two component results alongside the total. A spectacular individual lift can win a discipline medal without winning the combined title. These are junior 110 kg results from 18 October, not senior records or a summary of the entire championship.
